So today I went to visit THE UNDEVELOPED part of Lahore. behind Railway station.

I met this kid, I asked him what's his name and he replied 'Muhammad Afzal Gul!'

I then asked 'kaunsi class mei parhte ho?'

he said 'Mei parhta nahi hun!'

I asked why he said 'Ammi kehti hain k Abbu k paas itne paise nahi hain..'

I asked him 'Tumharay abbu kya kaam krte hain?'

he said 'Wo bohut achi chaat bechte hain! Aap khaoge?'

I said 'Nahi! Thank you! Aap ko kesa lagay ga agar mei kahun k mei aapko parhaunga!?'

He ran while saying 'Mei abhi Ammi se pooch k aaya!'

When he came back he said 'Ammi ghussay mei hain.. mei nai parhna! awain maar parh jaygi.' I told my friend to click a picture and went away.

On my way back I thought to myself in a country soo developed. Where people like me that have no problem spending 1000's. There are people that can't afford GOOD EDUCATION FOR THERE CHILDREN. It was soo inspiring, that little conversation, It really opened my eyes. I felt bad that instead of donating money to the ALS Bucket thingi I should've donated to a trust that promises a better Pakistan.

So the lesson here is that, before spending money on something useless JUST STOP FOR A SECOND and think to yourself 'Is this really Important? Should I not spend this money for a better cause?' Let us all promise to do this everytime we spend something.

Dont just sit infront of you 44 inches large Plasma screen TV and say we need CHANGE. BECOME THE CHANGE.
